Ever since Dr Perricone, the beauty world has been not-a-little obsessed with salmon (every launch seems to have at least three versions of it on their canapé platters). But apparently, according to an article in today’s The Daily Telegraph, most women aren’t eating their recommended dose of omega-3-rich seafood, which is at least twice a week. Salmon, tuna, mackerel and sardines offer the best benefits - not just for good functioning of the heart, brain and eyes, but also for their anti-inflammatory, free-radical-fighting qualities at skin level, which basically means: you get stronger, younger skin. If, like myself, you’re a vegetarian, you can get your omega 3s via flaxeed oil - either take supplements or add oil to a smoothie. It’s not as sexy as smoked salmon (oh how I miss a blini), but it does the trick.
