Saturday was Bastille Day, which for me meant a perfect little excuse to toast the Frenchies with my favourite champagne, Veuve. Unfortunately, then came Sunday: Hangover Day (that thing about not getting hangovers from French champagne? Pure fallacy). Luckily I’d recently stocked up on another French classic: Clarins Beauty Flash Balm ($57, from Adore Beauty). It was one of the original complexion enhancers and still the best. It doesn’t rely on shimmer and light trickery to give glow, it just kind of magically plumps up skin and makes it as dewy as if you, well, hadn’t spent a night on the booze.
