Blonde: a Matter of Mind over Skin?

October 12, 2007

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, who’s that? That’s the bizarre sensation I’m having right now. I finally dealt with my regrowth last night so now have a new half-head of cream and honey highlights. And while it’s the most beautiful colouring work – Christine at Sydney’s Valonz is just genius – for the first time in my life, I don’t feel blonde and I don’t think it looks right.

So it makes me wonder, maybe it’s true that blonde is more a personality thing. I’m usually all for matching your haircolour to your skintone. But some girls are happiest blonde – even when it really doesn’t suit their features. I don’t actually think brunette would suit my skin, but I can’t help feeling I need to give it a go at my next haircolour session. And I just saw this Sarah Jessica Parker pic, snapped from the set of the Sex & the City film. If Carrie can do it – it might just be a sign. Patterned over-the-knee socks optional. There are some things in life that only a Carrie can pull off.

  1. I’ve been all hair shades from black to blonde and in between, at this stage in my life I’m sticking with blonde, high maintenance but shhh…greys blend in better!
