Fringe Benefits

October 16, 2007

Just as I’m growing my fringe out, Kate goes and gets this new ‘do and throws a very stylish spanner into the works. But just remember, just because it works for Kate, doesn’t mean it will work for everyone else. Um, did someone say skinny jeans … Anyway, in case you’re interested, this is the checklist I’m using the help me decide whether to re-cut my fringe.

Fringe cons: You need to wash a fringe daily… It doesn’t just wake up looking like this - it has its own special styling needs …. It can move the face’s focus point down to your nose - although if you like your nose, that’s really not an issue I guess … You need to have it trimmed it every few weeks … It’s always, well, in your face … it’s a pain to grow out …

Fringe pros: Kate has one … It’s an easier way to change your look than a chop or a new colour, which can so often end in tears … Kate has one … It hides the forehead, which means it hides such unprettiness as lines, splodges or oiliness … Kate has one … It’s the perfect way to rebalance a long face… Did I say, Kate has one?
