This is Rachael, beauty editor of Cleo mag. AKA my Miss Opposite. There were many reasons we first decided we were Opposites – and most would need a whole other blog. But it was really mostly about the hair. When we met we used to both have super-straight hair that seemed in a race to reach the floor first. But mine was always really blonde, hers always really dark. I’ve since chopped off 30 centimetres (yes, it was traumatising, but necessary), so we’re not really so opposite beauty-wise right now. And, as I’m sure you know by now (because I go on and on about it), I’m dying to go a little darker – my latest haircolour thinking is a caramel-brown tint over my current highlights.
Anyway, I just found out that Miss Opposite and I will soon be in beauty sync. Because she’s just started to get honey highlights scattered through her brunette hair. Kind of opposite process to what I’m planning on doing – but the same effect in the end. It’s a hair shade that Rachael calls bronde. It’s her own word – but she let me borrow it for today. It means brown + blonde. But I’m sure you got that one.
