Because this was the purse I took out with me last night, to a beauty launch and then onto a Christmas party. Note the size: teeny-tiny. I have never been so minimally kitted out for an evening. All I packed: my Simmon’s Paw Paw balm (which I use for lips, hands, flyaways, basically everything), a Rimmel lip gloss, the Max Factor Masterpiece concealer, and my phone. No mascara, liner, or powder. Not even a blotting paper. The trick, of course, is to remove and reapply everything before you head out – that gives you good makeup mileage for a few hours. And if you don’t have your whole beauty world in your bag, you’re much less likely to stay out to the crack of dawn (oh, it has been known). Another clincher: pack your car keys. Driving is one sure-fire way to keep you off the vodka, and thus your makeup in tact. It also helps with the quick getaway. Because unfortunately parties never seem as fun when you’re not drinking …
