Add Sugar to your Skincare

Charlize Theron reportedly mixes sugar crystals into her cleanser when she wants a deeper clean – the granules provide a gentle exfoliating effect. Larger sugar granules can also be used to DIY a body or foot scrub – simply mix it with body cleanser, or else olive oil for a spa-worthy exfoliating and nourishing treat.

  1. I totally did that before she did! :-] Hm…on second thoughts she must be at least 15 years older than me…

  2. sugar is a chemical exfoliant too, it contains glycolic acid.

i like to mix caster sugar with a little lemon juice to use as a mask. when it dries, i scrub it off, therefore getting the benefit of both to chemical and mechanical exfoliants, lemon juice contains AHA’s as well.

makes my face feel like a baby’s bum.
