Interesting idea – because it’s often recommended to mix concealer with eye cream for a natural-look smooth-finish effect. However, when covering blemishes I think it’s best to apply your treatment directly and leave it to dry, so it can be most effective – if you dilute it with concealer, it will only be half as potent. As for the concealer, make sure it’s an oil-free one, or one especially formulated for pimples, such as Revlon ColorStay Blemish Concealer ($24.95 from pharmacies). And for best results, use a concealer brush or even a cotton bud to apply concealer, as this helps it to stick, whereas warm fingers can melt it off the spot you’re trying to cover up.

Hi kat, I couldn’t open the link to ask the question so here goes:
There are so many different ways on the web, so could you recommend the proper ways to fixing broken make-up e.g a dropped compact? xo Grace

also, sorry, I tried the method of fixing my compact powder with mixing rubbing alcohol into it and letting it dry. It is now a paste and drying but has gone around 3 shades darker. Will it go back to the original colour, or is it just because it’s wet? thankyou so much, xo

Hi Grace - I have heard about that alcohol technique, but have never tried it. Let me know how it goes. I just mush the powder all up with a mini pestle thing, then put it in an old container (I keep a few old mineral foundation and shadow dust pots), and use it like a loose dust. It’s kind of annoying with eye shadow and blush but if you slightly dampen the brush before application, it sticks well and goes smoothly onto the skin. K x

Thankyou for the info. It was such a gorgeous compact that I mixed it back in with some Isocol toner, and let it set after smoothing it out with a spoon. Today, it is completely dry but has big cracks throughout (and smells like alcohol) but I think I can manage! thanks xo
