I’m going to have to sit on the fence for this one. In general, higher-priced foundations use higher-quality pigment, not to mention a host of other luscious ingredients that allow the foundation to go onto and blend into skin beautifully. I’m thinking, off the top of my head, of those by Becca, Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Bobbi Brown, which are all absolutely beautiful and totally worth the investment.
However, mass brands these days have access to the pretty much the same technology as the prestige brands so you get very comparable results. Maybelline is a brand I always recommend for great bases, while one of my all-time favourites is Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation (which is $31 and available from Priceline and Target), and the one of the best tinted moisturisers is good ol’ Dove Protective Tinted Moisturiser SPF15 ($9.39 from pharmacies).

I’ve always found the higher end ones to sit better on the skin (provided you choose one which will suit your skin type!). L’oreal has a great range of foundations at affordable prices.

It’s always so hard to find the “perfect” foundation…mind you it’s only taken me few decades…waiting for a person to concoct the perfect formula for (me)…and I have just ordered two bottles of it…it’s in the middle of the price range…and I don’t mind paying the price if it mets my complexion needs.
