Can you recommend a good permanent haircolour that won’t cost the earth, will cover a few odd grey hairs, and won’t damage my hair?

Check out Atlantis Watercolour. I haven’t personally tried it (I get salon highlights) but I have only heard great things. It’s a 95% water-based tint that is both ammonia- and peroxide-free, so it doesn’t alter the structure of hair. If you apply it to dry hair, you get a permanent colour that covers greys (if you apply it to wet hair, the result is more like a semi-permanent glaze of colour). And it comes in a wide range of hues, from golden blonde to chocolate brown to rich red. It costs around $24. Click here for more details.
