Name: Karl Angela
From: Sydney
Beauty Signature: The ‘no make-up’/‘less is more’ make-up philosophy. It’s definitely simple to do, making it suitable for girls who are on the go but still want to look fresh and pretty.
Beauty Icon: Miranda Kerr. All-simple, all-natural Australian chic. She is breath of fresh air amongst models who drown themselves with too much beauty products.
All-Time Top Buy: Dior Diorshow Black Out Mascara ($51 from department stores). I have no regrets buying this product as it delivers ultimate black kohl pigment and it makes lashes instantly volumised.
Other Beauty Essentials: L’Oréal Paris Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation ($34.95, from pharmacies) gives good coverage, Nars Blush in Orgasm ($60, from Mecca Cosmetica) gives a sexy pink flush, and M.A.C false eyelashes (from $18 from M.A.C) look more natural than other brands and are great for nights out.
Next on the Shopping List: Crème De La Mer Moisturising Cream (from $250 from Crème de la Mer). I’ve read celebrities swear by the product as it makes the skin softer, firmer and more glowing. I’ll definitely save up for this.
Best Beauty Bargain: Lucas’ Papaw Ointment. For under $10, you can have this wonder product that can be used for rashes, open wounds, dry skin and sunburn among many others. I personally use it as part of my weekly lip scrub routine in which I just mix it with sugar and buff away.
Biggest Beauty Splurge: Custom Make-up with MAC for $95 - not bad as it is redeemable with product. A make-up artist will draw up a face chart so you can recreate the look on your own. Pampering yourself once in a while will make you feel (and look) much better.
Top Beauty Tip: When applying make-up, start with a thin layer as you can always add a few more strokes to achieve your desired look. Remember that it is easier to add than to undo your make-up. Also, have a box of tissue and cotton buds handy for any beauty slips.
Latest Trend to Love: Full-flush pink cheeks for Spring. Models in beauty magazines are wearing more pastel colours with a hint of gold. So stock up on pretty garden colours for the coming flower season.
Dirty Beauty Secret: Pimple marks. I’m still on the look for the perfect product that will make those gone gone gone…
PS – If you want to be a reader of the week (reason 1: you can free that inner beauty writer of yours; reason 2: you’ll get some thank-you goodies from my beauty cupboard), answer the questions above (no need to find prices –I’ll do that) and email them to me, including a photo of yourself and your address.

Yayyyyyyy I love Reader of the Week!! And is there anyone on the planet who doesn’t love Nars Orgasm?? If so, they crazy!

Nice to meet you Karl Angela. I think a lot of people are a fan of paw paw ointment! Haven’t tried the Nars Orgasm. Sounds great but I’m not a huge fan of blush. This product may change my mind?

Hi Karl Angela - Nice to meet you too! I have to get me one of those Orgasms too. I feel like I’m not in some fabulous club!

Not a huge fan of blush, Mel!??!!! I think I just choked on my coffee! Along with mascara, blush would have to be my must-have makeup item. It changes your whole face!

It’s nice to meet all of you as well. And yep, blush makes you look healthy and glowing. It’s a definite must-have especially this spring. Talking about the Orgasm line, I think they have that shade on lipgloss and nail polish as well, got to check it out. Stay pretty everyone

Ughh. I’m so pale that if I don’t wear blush, I look like a ghost! My must-have blush for pale skin is MAC Peachykeen though - love the natural flush it gives me. Gotta watch out with NARs blushes though - they’re so pigmented you can easily end up with clown cheeks like I did the first time I tried them.
