You know how makeup artists are always going on about applying eyeliner to the inside of the base of lashes to make them look fuller and eyes more defined? That’s the inspiration behind Bourjois’ new mascara. One side of the wand head features barely-there bristles – so if you wiggle it along the roots of hairs, the kohl-enriched, pigment-dense formula tints the inner upper rim; on the other side of wand, there are longer bristles for brushing the lash colour right through to the tips.
Admittedly, it’s not the easiest mascara wand in the world to wield. And the gooey formula can make a bit of a mess. But once you get the hang of it, it’s actually quite a magic little wand. If you like the traditional type of lined eye – traced along the upper lashes – it won’t replace your regular pencil. But for those of you who like to use minimal product, but get maximum effect, this is for you. It will give your eyes more definition and lashes more oomph, along with a nicely lifted, lengthened and separated finish.
Details: $24, available this month, from Priceline, Target and Kmart. In shades of black, brown and blue; for a limited time, green and violet.
