I’ve spent the past few mornings practicing my handstands. Mostly because I have only two-and-a-tiny-bit-more months to make sure I make one particular resolution resolve itself (see Monday). But also because I’m convinced it’s an amazingly anti-ageing thing to do. (more…)
The Look: Dewy rosy lips.
The Low-Down: The easiest way to get a plumped-up pout is to increase your intake of water – seriously, just drink a few more glasses of h2O tonight, and watch how you wake up to a super-soft, super-sized-looking set of lips. The finishing touch for Jessica-like lips: lavish on a cream lipstick in a fabulous shade of fuchsia pink.
The Lust-After: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Lipstick in Provocative Pink, $55, from department stores.

My absolute most beloved base is Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation ($31 from Priceline and Target). It has the most beautiful gleam and, yes, it really does make skin look like it has had its beauty sleep. Up there too is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($80 from selected David Jones). If you have the money to spare, it’s completely worth the investment. It also lives up to its name, making skin look like silk.
The Look: Black & white chic.
The Low-Down: White eyeshadow adds a bright touch to dark features – it’s also an effective way to make black liquid liner look even more dramatic. Not to mention work nicely back to a white top.
The Lust-After: M.A.C Eye Shadow in Vanilla, $32 from M.A.C

My dog Daisy has a better life than I do right now. She certainly has more friends than I do, thanks to her three days a week spent at doggie daycare, where she’s besties with the (furry) kids of some of Sydney’s top facialists and party planners (I kid you not). It’s definitely a better social life than mine (hmmm perhaps something to do with the fact that I spend so much money on Daisy, I have none left over for myself). Her most recent invitation was to the Rufus & Coco Pet Spa (click here for more on Rufus & Coco, a new line of pet vitamins, groomers and accessories). You can see Daisy wasn’t so happy about being washed (she loves nothing more than to smell of eau de dead rat). But she did get lots of cuddles once she was all clean and fluffy (the Rufus & Coco 4in1 Pamper Spray is fabulous – it detangles, deodorises, glosses and even has a UV filter – I want one!). And she even got to sit for Sydney’s top dog photographer – the Phodographer (of course). Sigh. Who would have thought I’d suffer life and hair envy - from my dog.
