And I am almost lost for words. Only almost. Oh I know I shouldn’t be mean-spirited on such a day as this, when Barack will soon be President and everything will be good in the world once more. I do have loftier ideals than just good hair and makeup, I swear, but I just can’t leave this alone. Doesn’t Christina just make you feel tired? All that effort to pack the foundation on, get mascara onto every single lash, layer on lipstick, iron the fringe just so. And that’s not just for a photo shoot or concert - that’s even when nipping outside to cast a vote.
Okay rant over, I’m going to let it slide now - I feel like I should forgive Americans most things right at this moment. Maccas, pink velour tracksuits, Billy Ray Cyrus, cheese in a tube, and yes, even a little makeup overload.
i remember a few years ago watching bad video clips on morning telly after a bit of a big one and seeing ricky martin come on doing a duet with a drag queen. i though “aw, isn’t that nice, he’s finally come out”.
then the end of the song came up and they put the artist’s name’s up. and yes, you guessed it, the ‘drag queen’ was christina aguilera. oops.
a definite sign of too much make-up methinks.
