ModelCo Tan Extender

So what exactly is a tan extender?, you may ask.

It’s basically a body cream with a small amount of tanning solution thrown in. The idea is, it gives you a subtle glow, whether worn on its own, or to oomph up a fading fake tan.

How’s that different from a gradual tan?, you may ask next.

Well, it’s not so much – except that it has a lower concentration of DHA (otherwise known as dihydroxyacetone, a natural derivative that reacts with amino acids in the skin’s surface, causing a dark tan-look effect) – perhaps only half the amount of a gradual tan.

So why use an extender over a gradual tan?, you may be wondering.

Good question. The main answer: because you still get good glow, but less build-up over time.

So is this ModelCo one worth buying?, you’re now thinking.

Indeed it is. It contains 3% DHA, a little more than most extenders, a little less than most gradual tanners, but the perfect balance for striking a subtle but lustrous long-term tan. What’s more, this mix features green tea, caffeine and ivy extract, among others, for their skin-tightening and texture-enhancing effect. So you’re treating while tanning. Too easy.

Sold!, you say. So how much, where from??

$28, from ModelCo and David Jones.

  2. I never thought to ask about the % of tan in these products, I wonder if this information is something that’s easy to find out?
