When applying your skin treatments – say, your antioxidant serum in the morning, your retinol at night - dollop a little extra onto the back of your hands and rub them together. The skin here is thinner and more delicate than that on your face, and just as prone to signs of ageing, so it needs TLC too. Also make sure you’re regularly applying sunscreen to the backs of hands to prevent age spots from developing.
Can’t seem to keep the curl in your lashes? Try doubling up on your curling technique. First curl you lashes (clamp the lash curler at the base of lashes, pump a few times, then move along the lashes to encourage sweep and lift) and apply mascara, as usual. Once that coat has dried, you can repeat the process - just be sure that the mascara has completely set or else it will stick to the curler. Extra tip: use a waterproof mascara to best hold the curl in place.

No, not with dark sunglasses (although that helps) – but a darker shade of concealer. By concealing puff-prone areas with a one-shade-deeper tone of cove-up than you might normally think to use, you’ll be visually playing down puffiness. Whatever you do, avoid using very light, and light-reflecting, concealers – this will only make any baggy spots seem so much more obvious.

Charlize Theron reportedly mixes sugar crystals into her cleanser when she wants a deeper clean – the granules provide a gentle exfoliating effect. Larger sugar granules can also be used to DIY a body or foot scrub – simply mix it with body cleanser, or else olive oil for a spa-worthy exfoliating and nourishing treat.
You’ve fake-tanned your face? Then skip your usual translucent powder, as this can have the effect of giving skin a dull or even grey and ashen appearance. Either upgrade to a darker shade of setting powder for the summer months, or else use a light bronzing powder instead. Just remember to bronze only in the areas that would colour in the sun (the forehead, the bridge of the nose, the cheekbones and the chin) for the most natural look.
